Batman – The Killing Joke

17 08 2008

So, after I saw The Dark Knight, I browsed the web and learned about two comic books that the Production crew gave Heath Ledger so he could study the Joker.  One, Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth, I have yet to find.  The other, Batman: The Killing Joke, I was able to find at a local comic book store.

Now, that is one great comic book.

Really.  It is.  Probably the greatest piece of work involving the Joker and Batman.  Now, I haven’t read massive numbers of Batman comics, but I have read a few and I still love the old Animated Series (on in 18 minutes, by the way) and this is by far the most insane I’ve seen the Joker.

And the most insane I’ve seen Batman.

I also was lucky enough to get the recolored version, this time colored by the original artist, Bolland, instead of some other guy.  It looked good.

So, in the end, I really liked it.  To any Batm

Well… Cool.

So Marvel let out their secret just before they were about to discuss it at Comic-Con.  Marvel is creating a ‘comic-style adaptation’ of a Stephen King short story, known as N (“Marvel to the Nth degree”).  Not only that, but it is set to be released on the Internet , through CBS Mobile, iTunes and more.  Not quite the Nintendo bombshell I was hoping for, but cool nonetheless.

“N” is a story by King involving a psychiatrist who becomes “the victim of the same mysterious and deadly obsession” as his patient.  Apparently they’re going to be drawn by artist Alex Maleev, known for his work in “Heroes”.

The Marvel story is here and the website for N is here.  Aptly titled, Nishere.com.

Curse you Marvel!

Marvel, why do you have to be so dang secretive.  It’s driving me insane!

*twitches*

See, looky here.

If that doesn’t drive you nuts, I don’t know what will.

Especially the fan posting and interpreting the post as a partnership with Nintendo.

That makes the wait even more unbearable!

GAH!

In other news, I’m still easgerly anticipating my Captain America subscription.  It starts on issue 41, despite the fact I ordered it before issue 40.  :(   That makes me sad.  I’m sure there’s some technical printing issue that makes it so, but I wanna read my comic. :(

That’s all for now.

PS: I am amazing at SceneIt.  Trust me.
